How can we perform research for education or to find out about a topic without going to a large central library in a main city? Actually, in many ways. Primarily the internet offers everything a library does. Try a google search or go to one of the background check websites and see if they can give you the info you need even allowing access to databases containing all manner of records, reverse lookup info. The internet did start as an educational resource for different universities and scientific centres to swap information and research quickly. These days the quantity of information available on the internet is astonishing. The only problem for students is that there is naturally no editorial control, so you cannot assume that the inforamtion you find is even remotely accurate.
