I ‘fondly’ remember the very first time I got auto insurance for my car (I hope the sarcasm passed). It was a subtle and perplexing list of decisions I had to make. At first my goal was simply to get very cheap car insurance. But then I found out it’s not so trivial: purchasing really cheap auto insurance means sacrificing a lot of protections that a more expensive auto insurance provides (such as medical coverage, car theft, etc).

That was the moment where I began doing research on the subject. I read an enormous amount of material about the subject which is ‘exciting’ (sarcasm..), but this has proven to be extremely useful as I was both able to get a decent auto insurance, from a respectableprovider, at an affordable price.

Even better, I learned that things could get even more difficult, and my scenario is not that complicated: for example car insurance for teenagers tends to be quite expensive because teenagers are prone to accidents (statistically speaking), so once your teenage son gets his/her license, your insurance company is bound to raise your premium. That being said, this is an issue I don’t need to be concerned over for at least 13 more years (my son is not even close to being a teenager).

Luckily for us all, the internet is a rich source of useful information. In fact, many sites allow you to compare car insurance quotes from various providers. I highly recommend visiting such sites: not only you will learn much, but you are also bound to finish with a much better (and cheaper) car insurance than you would’ve otherwise.
