Freestanding decks are relatively inexpensive and easy to bulid. You will need some type of foundation to support this type of pool deck.
An attached pool deck will connect your pool to your home. This enables it to get some of its structural support from your house. Much of the time attached pool decks will give your above ground pool the appearance of an in ground pool. You have to check the elevation for your house and the height of the pool to see if this type of pool deck is a possibility for you. Since supports for this deck are attached to your home will probably want to hire a professional to build it for you.
There are a few commonly used designs for the building of pool decks for above ground pools. The smallest design type is known as a platform deck. This type of deck will not go around the pool but does give a small area to be near the pool. A single side deck will be put along one side of the pool. This deck design will conform to the pool’s shape and makes it possible for swimmers to exit the pool by climbing on it. Single side decks are almost always bigger than platform decks. If you want a pool deck to go around the entire pool you should consider an all around pool deck. This is typically the largest of the above ground pool decks.
